The Gangwon Tourism Organization participated in the Jeju International Cruise Forum, actively promoting Sokcho Port as a cruise destination. The event took place at the Jeju International Convention Center from July 23 to 25, organized in partnership with Sokcho City.
Officials highlighted Sokcho Port's infrastructure and hospitality programs to global cruise lines. Direct consultations were held with major international cruise operators, including MSC, Royal Caribbean, and Stardream.
It signed a business agreement with Japan's Port of Sakaiminato to collaborate on attracting cruise ships and developing connected tourism packages. The partnership includes sharing operational expertise and creating joint excursion packages utilizing local cultural resources.
Building on this partnership, the organization is accelerating efforts to diversify East Sea cruise routes and attract international visitors. Gangwon Tourism Foundation CEO Choi Sung-hyun stated that the state will continue to solidify Sokcho Port's foundation as a premier cruise destination in Northeast Asia.
